Here at Speedwell, we pride ourselves on the wide range of roof types we work with. We are really proud of what we do, and we pull out all the stops to make sure our clients feel it too.
Perhaps most importantly, we recommend the right solution for the job – not the most expensive or easiest solution for us.
Need to minimise disruption and avoid downtime? We’ve fitted an entire factory roof without causing a single hour of downtime – if it can be done, we can do it. Why not read about Our Work and see some of the projects we’ve worked on?

Here are some of the types of roofs we work with on a daily basis:
Composite Panels
Composite panels provide aesthetically pleasing, energy efficient, cost-effective roof and wall solutions.
A standard composite panel is a sandwich made of three layers, the top sheet, insulation and a liner sheet. Insulated metal panels are fitted as a single component which increases the speed of build and minimises delays.
Panels are supplied in a variety of profiles, finishes, colours and thicknesses to provide the correct Uvalue and aesthetics for a project.
Built up systems
Built up systems offer and alternative to composite panels as a flexible solution. It is fixed in 3 separate stages with a Liner sheet, layer of insulation and top sheet.
Single Skin
Single skin cladding can be used on a variety of projects and is most commonly used for Warehouses and agricultural buildings where the need for insulation is minimal.
Single skin sheeting is also used as an overclad option, on a bar and bracket system, for roof and wall coverings to improve the aesthetics of the buildings envelope.
Single skin sheets can be supplied in a wide range of colours and profiles and can be brake pressed to match existing profiles for patch repairs.
Standing Seam Roofing
Standing seam roofing is often used to produce an aesthetically pleasing finish to large retail units or buildings in prominent locations.
The system is installed in a similar way to a built up system utilising a liner sheet as the base, insulation in the void and a non-ferrous top sheet to finish. The system creates an impermeable membrane that is leak and corrosion proof. Standing seam uses continuous lengths of sheeting which minimises lapping between sheets.
The top sheet is usually aluminum which gives a modern appearance but this can be specified in steel for a more cost effective solution
Wall Cladding
In addition to Composite Wall Panels and Built up wall systems we have experience in various other wall Cladding projects;
Zinc Wall Panels
Zinc facade systems can be used for new build and refurbishment alike and in combination with many other building materials. Zinc offers exceptional durability, limited maintenance and a wide range of finishes
Brick Wall Cladding
Using a brick slip system we transformed a domestic property and included additional insulation to improve the Thermal efficiency of the building
Polymeric Single Ply
Single ply membranes are strong, flexible sheets typically around 1.1mm to 2mm thick and are sealed at joints to form continuous waterproofing. When combined with insulation and continuous support they form complete, durable roof systems.
Built-Up Felt Roofing
Reinforced bituminous membranes, also known as built-up felt roofing, provide reliable, quality waterproofing.
There are several techniques for applying felt which include pour and roll systems, torch-on roofing, mechanical fixings or self-adhesive technology. All of these options are available depending on the customers’ requirements and best suit for the project.
